Even
during his childhood, Pino Di Modugno displayed a special gift for music
and for the accordion in particular.
He began his studies at the age of seven and at ten he participated in
the EIAR radio competition "Dilettante's Paradise", gaining
his first prize.
He than refined his skills on the accordion and participated in numerous
national and international competitions winning a series of first prizes
in both jazz and classical music.
During all these competitions, judged by well-known artists like
F.Alfano, R.Bossi, G.Farina, L.Ferrari Trecate, F.Lattuada, L.Liviabella,
N.Rota, he has shown that he possesses perfect technique, a robust
touch, surprising dexterity and confidence.
He participated in many national and international Radio- and
TV-programs such as United States, Canada, Germany, Switzerland,
Portugal, Venezuela etc.
Pino Di Modugno performed as concert soloist with the Bari Symphonic
Orchestra during their concert held in commemoration of the music by
Nino Rota.
