Frederic Deschamps and pupils of
his Class "Of the Accordion" - New Technical Approach
This method of accordion is not in a any collection of progressive exercises
but rather a "method" of work to the clean direction of the term explaining
a manner of making following certain principles and with a certain order.
The goal is to help to solve the various technical difficulties which
contains any musical text, that it is of a partition chosen, or of a
exercise of a traditional method (Astier/Baselli or Ferrero for example, to
only quote most known). These last arouse a great interest at Frederic
Deschamps that it itself practised them.
They however present some disadvantages at its eyes. In addition to with
dimensions "unpleasing" and musicalement poor their exercises, these methods
systematically do not solve the basic problems encountered by the
accordionists, like the position of the hands, arms, wrists, the movement of
the fingers, the use of the bellows (compression of the airstream), and well
of other elements.
Group of students, July 2006
Quite to the contrary, these traditional methods have the annoying tendency
to develop defects of position, until the musician is confronted with the
sad truth "to be technically limited". Our author does not claim in any
manner of wanting to revolutionize the teaching of the accordion, nor to
assert the invention of a method miracle. All the elements of its working
method form since good a long time part of the teaching inheritance of other
instruments much older, the such piano, the violin and the instruments wind,
but also the song.
Thus discover in this collection, a synthesis of some great ideas that its
musical course will have enabled him to discover, on the one hand thanks to
the frequentation of talented musician not accordionists, and on the other
hand, thanks to the teaching heritage which the excellent professors
bequeathed to him that the chances of the life enabled him to attend.
Sequences pédago: The Synthesis This first teaching book is a precise
summary of the new teaching methods of Frederic Deschamps, illustrated many
photographs with some musical examples with the support. A first part
approaches the general balance of the treating instrument of the whole of
the problems of position encountered by the accordionists. The second part
is reserved for the purely technical aspect, illustrated of a series of
adaptable simple exercises on any musical text and this it does not matter
style (haversack, traditional, variety, jazz, etc).
As a conclusion, a summary table of "the working method" gathers in a
concise way the unit of the exercises to be carried out by respecting a
precise order and tempo. Is this method published with the editions Alphonse
